Privacy Policy
JMB Lite (“we”, “us”) provides multi-tenant software for Joint Management Bodies (JMBs) and their residents in Malaysia. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect personal data when you use lite.jmb.my, app.jmb.my, admin.jmb.my, and related apps.
What we collect
- Account data: email address, full name, and phone number (where provided).
- Membership and unit linkage within a JMB (role, unit identifiers).
- Operational content you or your JMB submit (documents, announcements, requests, charges, and payment records).
- Technical logs needed to operate the service (for example access times and error diagnostics), excluding passwords and auth tokens.
Why we use it
- To authenticate you and provide the JMB Lite service.
- To let your JMB administer units, communications, documents, and billing workflows.
- To secure the platform, prevent abuse, and meet legal duties.
Sharing
Personal data for a JMB is visible to authorised members of that JMB according to role. We use infrastructure providers (including hosting and database services) as processors under our instructions. We do not sell personal data.
Retention
We retain account and operational data while your organisation uses JMB Lite and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. Backup copies may be retained for a limited window after deletion from the live system.
Your choices
Contact your JMB administrator or privacy@jmb.my to request access, correction, or other rights regarding your personal data, subject to applicable law and tenancy controls.
Terms of Service
By accessing or using JMB Lite you agree to these Terms of Service between you and the operator of JMB Lite.
The service
JMB Lite is software for JMB administration and resident access. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable. Availability is subject to maintenance windows and subscription status of the relevant JMB.
Accounts and access
- You must provide accurate account information and keep credentials confidential.
- Access is granted through membership in a JMB. Admins and residents use separate surfaces; you may only use the role assigned to you.
- The JMB that invites or provisions you is responsible for authorising your access to that tenancy’s data.
Acceptable use
You must not misuse the service, attempt unauthorised access, upload unlawful content, or interfere with other tenants. We may suspend access for security, abuse, or unpaid / suspended subscriptions.
Content and liability
JMBs remain responsible for the accuracy of charges, documents, and notices they publish. To the extent permitted by law, JMB Lite is provided “as is” and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.
Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by a new version identifier on this page; continued use after you accept the updated version constitutes agreement.
PDPA Notice
This notice is provided in connection with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 of Malaysia (“PDPA”) for users of JMB Lite.
Data user
The operator of JMB Lite processes personal data to deliver the platform. Your JMB may also process personal data as a data user in respect of its own management activities. Contact: privacy@jmb.my.
Purpose of processing
Personal data is processed to register and authenticate users, manage JMB membership and units, deliver documents and communications, support billing workflows, and operate and secure the service.
Classes of data
Identification and contact details (name, email, phone), membership and unit information, and content submitted through the service as described in the Privacy Policy.
Disclosure
Data may be disclosed to authorised members of your JMB, to service providers acting on our behalf, and where required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Consent and rights
Where consent is required, you indicate agreement by accepting this page’s Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and PDPA Notice in the app. Subject to the PDPA, you may request access to or correction of your personal data, or limit processing, by contacting us or your JMB administrator. Withdrawal of consent may prevent continued use of the service.
